Names on widget details
An insight widget’s card never shows names. In View details, the rows behind a number can include students’ names and emails. The Widget detail names control decides whether they do.
If you don’t see this menu or button, your role doesn’t include it. Ask someone who can edit roles (Owners and Admins by default).
Change the setting
Section titled “Change the setting”- Open Settings > Roles and permissions.
- Under Widget detail names, switch Instructors see student names and emails on widget details on or off.
The change saves immediately. It is on by default.
What each person sees
Section titled “What each person sees”Names and emails can appear on widget details only for a person whose stored Rowseta role is Instructor, in a signed course launch, when the Organization setting is on and the report behind the metric does not anonymise them. If someone is explicitly assigned a different role in People, for example Report Builder, their details show Anonymous even when the signed launch carries an Instructor claim. The details also show Anonymous if the setting is off or cannot be read.
Only the course’s enrolled people appear on the details page, and only for the course the widget was opened in.
